Types of Electric Fencing:
Wall-Top Fencing
Wall top fencing is a structure one install on top of your existing boundary to increase the height and enhance perimeter protection to gain access over in to your property.
In build-up suburban areas the general consciences is to install a wall-top electric fence on top of the existing structure to prevent ease of access to intruders climbing over in to your property. Free Standing Fence
An independent structure usually installed inside one’s property to prevent inadvertent contact or as a free standing perimeter fence in less dense populated areas. They vary in design dependent on application. Currently they can be installed as boundary fences in agricultural areas and on private property only.
Applications: Where there is no existing fence structure or a new security fence needs to be installed for added security. For example: residential estate security, golf course security, office parks, complexes, mines, stores, magazines, plant and equipment yards, agriculture, game control, stock theft, inner central fence lines and many more.
Piggyback Fence
These structures are used to upgrade the security on any existing structure ranging from the Pre-Cast Walling to Palisade Fencing and Wire mesh fences. It is generally mounted ± 100mm-150mm inside the existing structure. The general consensus is that this fence structure should be full height of the existing fence plus an additional 300mm-800mm above depending on the existing structure height to prevent easy access over the electrified fence. Leaving it very difficult for intruders to gain access over the top of the fence from outside.
Applications: any area where one need to increase perimeter security with limited funds or where excessive distances of fencing is already in place and one need to increase the security there off.
Agricultural / Game Fence
The basis of the electrified fence in this application is to educate and in the end protect the animals. This is achieved by the introduction of a ‘high voltage’ fence line in close proximity to the animals in a training boma at an early age first.
Whilst pulsing, the fence gives off negative iron’s into the air which is detected by animals( almost like static electricity does to human hair), as the animal comes into contact with the live wires it receives a non-lethal shock, which the animal associates with the scent of the negative iron’s, and in doing so the animal will keep a certain distance from the fence before turning away.
Palisade Fencing
Steel Palisade fences are available in a variety of heights for medium to high security installations. They are manufactured in various designs to suite your needs and blend in with existing structures. For enhanced security, Steel Palisade fences may be coupled with a piggyback electric fence along the full height of the fence or even just at the top of the fence. Metal Palisade fences are available in the standard welded Palisades or as Bolt-On palisades. Bolt-On palisade fencing are especially suited where the terrain is uneven, as they can be installed on slopes with little difference in the gap on the ground.
